Joliet, Illinois - Ashley M. Blumenshine, a 27-year-old dance teacher and coach at Plainfield North High School pleaded not guilty to sexual abuse charges Wednesday after she was caught having sex with a 16-year-old student in her car.
According to police, an officer was on patrol when he noticed two suspicious vehicles parked behind a Kohls department store around 6:30 p.m. January 4. When he pulled in for a closer look, he found Blumenshine in the the car and the partially clothed student. A condom was also found at the scene.
It is believed that the alleged relation between Blumenshine and the student had been ongoing for about a month Blumenshine, who is not married, worked at the school as a dance teacher and a girl's gymnastics coach. Blumenshine was booked into the Will County Adult Detention facility. She was released after posting a $75,000 bond.
